Welcome to the Iowa Cinema Events Coalition! This organization
was developed in recognition of the increasing number of film
festivals and film-related events springing up all across
the state. Iowa is poised to be a major force in the filmmaking
industry and film events will play a large role in developing
the Iowa cinema culture.
The
Goals of the ICEC
- Coordinate
scheduling of events on a yearly calendar to avoid overlapping
dates
- Co-promote
events and partner in cooperative marketing and public relations
efforts.
- Develop
incentive benefits for filmmakers who enter multiple member
events.
- Share
ideas and event planning techniques
There
is no cost and there are no obligations, other than agreeing
to work together for the common good.
Coalition
Chairs are Eric Freese, publicity director of the Cedar Rapids
Independent Film Festival and IMPA Board Member; Mary Blackwood,
co-director of Landlocked Film Festival; Bruce Heppner-Elgin,
co-director of Landlocked Film Festival and president of the
Iowa Digital Filmmakers Guild and IMPA Board Member.
